Noise (vid)

there is this noise my car makes in the morning/after its been off for half day.
Its not that loud inside the car but with the top off it is, and seems to be coming from the left side of the engine compartment.
As you hear in the video, its not a constant sound, and it lasts for about 5 minutes or so since starting the car for the first time.
I'll take it to a mechanic in 2 weeks, but i'm trying to find out if there's something i can do in the meantime or what this noise is...

Sounds like a bearing--My money is on the belt tensioner.

Release the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away.

Another way, short of going to a repair facility, is to purchase a steoscope at a parts house and check for the noise source.

i cant go out at this time, but looking at the manual and this image from the video i dont get which is the power steering reservoir...

in cold weather the power stering belt WILL whine and as far as I ahve3 found it is just the way it is even if you were to replace the unit in the cold it will whine

alright, this sucks, i just checked the power steering fluid and it barely shows up on the tip of the dipstick ...

there is some in the reservoir moving, i'm going to go buy some ATF4 and top it.

Glad to see you have a most probable cause--low fluid in PS pump.

have you noticed any fluid on the ground or other indications of leakage?

nope, havent seen any leaks,
bought some Prestone Powersteering fluid and put in a little, no more than 8oz i'd say.
