What kind of problems?

The machine uses the difference in the specific gravity of the old fluid and the new fluid to form a barrier for the exchange of fluids. This is accomplished under very low pressure equal to or less that the transmission's internal fluid pressure.

If your contact is concerned about the possibility of clogging due to clutch material--have the pan dropped and the filter and fluid changed. This will not drain the cooler nor the torque converter but is a very good procedure and reasonably priced.

If the vehilce is below the recommened fluid change interval, not experiencing any abnormal conditions--such as metalic particiales/clutch material in the fluid/poor or no shift capabilities--I, and it is only a personal choice, perfere the kidney machine.

I wish the tranny filter was on the out side of the case like the oil filter - it would make the best of both worlds available at a very reasonalble cost.

When I had mine flushed I asked for the synthetic blend of ATF+4 (they called AFT+5) and I also had the pan dropped and filter changed after the flush. It took an extra 4 qts. plus the filter and gasket. It costs more but I felt better knowing there was a new filter.

The filter is all metal casing (not sure of the internal material) and supposedly the flush cleans it out but I was getting a break on the whole price because the owner of the Chrysler dealer is also the owner of the Chevrolet dealer that sponsors my Corvette club.

Its always nice to have people you know or are affiliated with to help you out. Thankfully one of my best friends is a mechanic at our local dealership and hooks me up on the side with whatever maintenance I need.

I have never heard that. Does he have the machine to do it?

I agree. My girlfriend told me that a shop told her the same thing when she asked to get her tranny flushed. I said thats crap. If they have the machine to do a full flush, including converter, there shouldnt be a problem.
