my wife's engine light came on this morning. when i checked under the hood the only thing out of fluid was the coolant. we did just give it an oil change sunday. i filled it up w/prestone (actually kind of overfilled a little) drove it around for a while and the light is still on. is that normal? will the light go off by itself? we did add prestone "works w/all fluid colors" coolant to the reservoir.

The engine light tells you that the computer has found a fault. Find out what the fault is before getting rid of the light. Here's how...
How to retrieve fault codes. When you retrieve the fault code and want to get rid of the light, take the negative battery cable off for about 5 minutes. That will clear the fault from the computer.
