I have a 01 limited edition and just a couple days ago I noticed the meter going into the hot when I heard the dash indicator go off. My boyfriend poured some antifreeze in but what we noticed is that when poured in some splashes out on the right side of the container that holds the fluid. If you are facing the car its on your right. Is there a hose on that side connecting to the container b/c I had to have a hose tightened up a couple months ago when the car started to over heat? If its no hose on that side how could I possibly have a hole in the container. Also since that has happened im having a problem with my heat. Are the two related. My heater will blow hot for all of a couple minutes then it goes ice cold. Help me please!!!!1

...and yes, air in the cooling system will stop the heater from working.
Hopefully, the missing hose from the overflow tank was the problem that caused your overheating. If not, then you have to start looking for other things that make the car overheat, like a burnt out fan motor or head gasket.
