Question Broken windows!!

This is my first post on here!
I drive a 2002 PT, nothing special on it at the moment. My driver side window stopped working a few months back and i just now got around to taking the door panel off to see what was up.

The cable that pulls or lowers the window had snapped in half along the top and then wound itself inside of the motor, The motor still works fine, with the exception of the cable being wound in it. What can i do about this? Chrysler wanted $350 for a new regulater. what exactly is it i need to buy to fix this?

And whats the best way of going about it?

Welcome.
If you're willing to put in the work, find a "pull-it-yourself" junk yard and take out the "guts" and replace. Any year except a convertible.
If not, ask around for a competent mechanic and have them take a look.
Might even try a good body shop.

Welcome to the forum.

As Don noted, if your willing to do the work, take it apart, see if you can get the broken cord out of the motor and visit a glass repair shop. They usually have all kinds of parts to repair widows and regulators and replacement motors. You can buy parts or have them fix it a lot cheaper than the dealer.
