The heater core has the same water as the rest of the system. Take it back to whoever did the timing belt and have them bleed the system of the excessive air. You'll also have overheating problems so watch the temperature guage.

I dont think it is air, the system has a good flow when hot

Ok but if that is truly the case then look at it this way
The water or coolant in the radiator gets hot--is that correct??? That same water/coolant is what runs through the heater core---???? if that water is at operating temp close to like 190degrees---then the heater core HAS to get hot if in fact there really is a good flow through the core. Now if all this is true then the air that blows over the core has to be hot it is just that simple if you are saying it is not then some how the core is not heating up and if it is not heating up then there has to be a blockage some place be it air or whatever So if all this is true and you have no heat then the core can not be getting hot or the fan is not blowing over the core to send the heat into the cabin maybe the flow you see is not going through the heater core???? I may have missed something but the way it seems is if the water gets hot, the core gets hot, the air gets hot, the car gets hot...................... |

ALL hoses are hot to the touch which would tell you that there is no blockage

Heater hose may be a "by-pass" hose; so, being hot may not reflect the actual status of the heater core (what's going on inside the core). So..
-bad core or air in heater core. I'm assuming that they flushed the coolant system...that's where you get the air and other junk in the system.
