I know I said this before but a Engine Blanket really helps when it is super cold Im not 100% WHY it does but it seems to have helped me in the past

Like Cruzin said a trickle charger is always a good thing

You could try adding the Marvel Mystery Oil additive to your oil it will do the same as keep it from getting really thick

for sure add a bottle of gas line antifreeze or heet or Lucas or whatever you prefer keep the gas flowing

You already did the bigggee with the wires and plugs

good luck

Thank you again for the heads up with the oil weight. We will get it changed asap. We did buy a trickle charger this weekend in our attempt to get that battery up and running. Are you saying to put that charger on over night when we're expecting that cold of temps or just use it to help boost the battery afterward?

Get yourself a cheap AC/DC Volt meter. That way you can check the voltage of the battery at any time. I think a fully charged battery should be around 12.3 - 12.6 volts DC. Whenever you see it down around 12.0 put the charger on.

If you can find one that says it won't over-charge by leaving it on all the time you can keep it on overnight when you expect the temps to drop very low.

That over night charging idea does work. Back in the late '60s my father would put a charger on the battery on the '62 Rambler American we had on the nights the temps were to be under 10 degrees F. Not only did that car never fail to start no matter how cold it got, but the battery life was longer then what was expected in those days.

Spend the extra money and get synthetic oil - it IS better, and is particularly good at temperature extremes - both very cold and very hot.

I like quicksilverdons answer I am not a dealer but I have used amsoil and it works great there are others also royal purple mobil 1 just remember you may be able to go more miles on the oil for the extra cost of the oil.
