We went thru this before and found out that those headlights were illegal in the U.S. except for off-road. Unless somethings changed I'd look into it before buying.

It doesn't mean you won't see them on the road. Sme of the APC tail lights that came out didn't meet U.S. requirements but they still sold them and people still have them on their cars, it's just that they won't pass inspection but if your in a state with no annual inspection (Florida) then you can get away with it.

For one thing, there has to be a reflective amber piece that can be seen from the side at night and it has to light up when the lights come on. Red reflective material at the rear. Look at every car on the road and you'll be able to see what I'm talking about.

An extra light/reflector can be added to the side of the vehicle to conform to that law as long as it lights up at night.

I also believe the lights used are European and don't meet the requirements of U.S. laws, but again you might be able to change the bulb or whatever doesn't meet requirements. But it might be the reflective material that surrounds the bulb in which case you might be out of luck.

I don't know how many inspection places actually go to that length to see that the lights conform to the law so even having an inspection in your state, you might get away with it.

I went thru all this when I took my Vette to England. Had to pass their laws going in and because I made changes, I had to go thru our laws coming back.

Now, if some U.S. after market company is now making those lights for the PT, they might have made some changes (but I don't see the reflector in the picture in the ad), but if they are just importing them and selling them here, that's different.

Do you really want me to go Off-Topic that much? Hope nobody else minds.

Worked for a No Such Agency here and took several tours overseas. The Government ships anything I want over there including 1 car. Took the Vette to England from 92-95. It went by ship. Had to change headlights (to reflect on the left side of road), tail lights (added amber turn lights - mandatory) and had to add a 21 watt amber light in back - for fog).

Driving on the right is different to say the least. For first six months had to keep telling myself "stay to the left" but that didn't work a couple times (forgot) but didn't end up in any crashes. It was worse coming back after three years as I kept pulling out to the left over here. A couple scary moments. Even though there are hundreds of Vettes (and lots of other American cars) over there, it still attracted attention no matter where I went. I had another car plus a motorcycle (TRIBSA) to use for work and the wife had her own car plus the weather really sucks so I only put about 3K a year on it.

As far as the plates go. As long as the letters are correct size you can have 2 lines (instead of 1) and all the lettering fits. White plate on front, yellow in the rear.
