Your code is for a "cylinder misfire"--not a plug misfire. The things you have checked to narrow the source of the concern is spot on.

Did you check the new plug-ceramic? Very easy to crack it and that will cause a misfire--you moved the wire and the miss stayed in # 4. Move the plug and see what happens.

Next thing I would look at is the Fuel Injection System. A fouled injector will can cause the same misfire code. Use a quality injector cleaner with a nice long highway drive or have a fuel system service performed.

What fuel are you using--brand name not the octane rating?

This information may prove helpful to us in helping you.

From PTCruizer.com/repairs......

Flickering lights appear to be a moderately common and hard to troubleshoot problem, but some people have reported that changing the battery and/or cleaning the battery terminals fixes it. Some with perfectly clean batteries and terminals are also having the problem. Dealers seem unable to find the problem, which appears to only affect lighting - both headlights and interior lighting. Some say that it is not a major issue; it doesn't seem to affect anything but the lights. Electronics appear to have a separate voltage regulator.

good luck on the low compression problems. our 07 pt is suffering from low compression and misfire on #2 cylinder. we have it pretty much narrowed down to a bad ring or a burnt valve.so please keep us updated on what you find out, as i am watching this post closely.
