Question HEATED SEATS (FUSE KEEPS BLOWING)

Has anyone ever experienced or heard of the heated seat fuses constantly blowing. Once i noticed the seats not heating the first thing i checked ware the fuses. Upon checking the fuses i noticed they were blown. I simply replaced the fuses and the seats worked fine for a day. It now appears that as soon as i replace the fuses they simply blow almost immediately. Obviously there is a bigger problem here other then fuses.

Any thought's?

Blown fuse--shorted some where.

It appears that the fuse(s) blow(s)s when either seat warmer is used...

I would look toward a relay issue-

Have you performed any wiring work on the vehilce just prior to this issue surfaceing?

It's only the drivers seat.

That is a good bad thing. You have narrowed down have the possible failure items to one side of the vehicle.

Bad Switch?

Check the under seat wiring for chaffing or the like.
Disconnect the power from the switch to the seat. Energize the switch for a period of time. De-energize the circuit and check the fuse...still good--problem from switch to seat warmer.....not good--problem from switch back to fuse box.

Did you wash the engine compartment lately?

Sorry for sounding a bit ignorant but:

1) I assume you're talking about disconnecting the wiring under the seat.
2) What do you mean by energizing & de-energizing.

Disconnect as close to the switch as possible--at the switch output would be ideal.

Energize-supply power-turn on

De-energize--remove power-turn off

Have you been eating a lot of beans prior to driving? After trying all that electrical stuff, just a thought.

Sorry for not replying sooner. BLUEH20 i followed your instructions and everything now works. I disconnected the switch, i de-energized and energized, connected the swithch and put in a new fuse and everything is working fine. No blown fuses - yet.
Thanks for your help
