Default tie rod repair

While accelerating from a stop sign tonight, my driver's side wheel went limp... the tie must have broke. This is the beginning of a nightmare I think. I called the only tow company open 24 hours, and they sent a truck out... When the driver was backing in to put the tow arm under the car, the arm wasn't lowered all the way and he demolished the bottom of my front facia.... I am now freaking out, demanding the towing company fix my facia!! He says that he'll take it to his mechanic/body shop and have it repaired. I've got a sneaky feeling this place he's taking it to is a bit schisty, and is going to f*** me on the cost of repairs of the tie rod.

Does anyone have any idea how much it would be, on average, to have a mechanic fix a broken tie rod? I'm just looking for a general ballpark. If they quote me a ridiculous amount, I will be having it towed to a dealer, and the towing company will be receiving a bill for the cost of the facia repair... if they don't pay I'll be seeing them in small claims court.
