Luggage area cover missing

I noticed that the luggage cover (if this is the correct term) that goes
just behind the rear seat is missing on the new (never sold) 2007 base
model PT that I might go ahead and buy. I brought this up to the salesperson
and he went with me to the parts department and they said they did not
think that model came with a cover. If that is true wouldn't a cover
from any of the other models work? I think it just lays into the slot
and can be removed easily but I'm not sure. This is the car without the
airconditioner. The dealer called yesterday and lowered the price
again which is making it tempting to buy and deal with the air
myself. I know that if all the parts are purchased seperately it can
be done but of course this is a really expensive way to go which could
cost $3000 or more including labor. Anyway
it seems that if the luggage cover is similar or the same in all PT's
I might even find one used.

There are always some on ebay. Or someone here may pop up and have one to sell. As far as I know, the shelf will fit all models.

Frank is correct in that one "rear shelf" fits all models. Not having one in you base model is just one more of the cost saving measures that Chrysler did over the years.

There's one on eBay right now going for $65 + shipping but there's 3 days to go till the end of the auction. Don't worry about it saying 2007-08 shelf because as we said, it fits all cruisers except the convertible (of course).
