Where to go if ........

To all the members of this forum.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to reach the Administrator of this forum for the past few months (September). I've talked to other Moderators on forums that he owns and they say the same thing. Not sure what has happened and hope it's nothing bad.

I don't know how long this forum can keep going without an administrator. Someone has to pay the bill for this site to survive and keep going. I for one wold severely miss not coming here. I don't mind cleaning up all the spam as I like to check in several times a day (when I'm not out with my Sheriff's volunteer position or doing other things with the 4 car clubs that I belong to).

However, contingency plans have to made if SKYLIGHT (the Administrator) doesn't come back. The site will have to close down if nobody pays the bills.

I do belong to 7 other PT sites. Some pretty active, others are dying for lack of participation. If anyone has a suggestion of where to go to, a site that's active, please chime in.

My suggestion, where I would keep going, is:

That would be very sad as this is my favorite of the pt forums.I have learned more here and as is directly responsable for my education on finding my pt.
I dont profess to knowing much of owning such a site,anyone guess what such a site cost?

I have a good site for you to go to.
In my opinion it is one of the Best PT Sites left.Once you work your way through the Network it has endless possibilities.

Yes, I already belong to Alliance. Not thrilled the way the forum looks/works but that is an alternative. I was one of the first to sign up for that site when they invited a bunch of us over when it first started up. Thanks.

Hey Everyone,

I sure do hope all is ok with our Administrator here! This is a great Site! However if we do wind up needing an eventual alternative the Forum over at my Site is always up, and pretty much has everything that we have here, and is pretty simple to figure out. I did have a big site with a full gallery, and stuff but wound up with a conflict with my Host so I am currently working on building another website which should be up within the next couple of weeks again I hope.

Hrm....lots of awesome information stored here.

Has anyone contacted you regarding how to "back up" this website? For instance I'd like to create some PDF's of forums I've been involved with, but that's only a small smidget of the resources here.

There are some software packages out there (I know from Facebook and Myspace etc.) that allow you to SAVE web pages in journal or book type format. But I'm not that famialar with them or web savvy. Maybe some of you out there know what I'm talking about?

BTW...I thought this site was paid by TREMEK....? Has that changed?

If the worst happens....well then it happens. Maybe we should post a web-poll about which site people would like in general (using the suggestions from this forum...?) Then we can all go over to that one if we get the "404" pop up someday.

Hey THS_Cruiser03,

I wish I did have a good way of going about backing up some of the info here, but unfortunately I sure don't. One thing I can do if everyone is cool, and if it came down down to it is, if you guys had a poll, or something, and picked out any and all information you might want to save, either you guys, or myself could work on cutting and pasting the info over at my forum just in case. My forum is remotely hosted and is paid, and supported by other advertising, and the Host has 1000's of forum's so its not too likely to be going anywhere for a long, long time. and if it ever did, I would have notice well in advance, and have the control to back up, and transfer everything at that point. Its kind of a round about way of doing it, but it will work to at least save the info.
