Default Consumer Reports says . . .

I just saw a Consumer Reports mag while in a checkout line, and it's article on cars list the Chrysler PT Cruiser (Turbo) as one of the worst cars in reliability.

Judging from what other posts have said, some people consider the PT a girl car.

Is this related to their results . . .

I had an '03 GT and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. I know a lot of guys who own a PT turbo and they love them. As for the PT being a girl's car we have had three PTs of which two of them were mine and you'd never confuse me for a girl.

I was making reference to the fact that girls complain about the littlest thing when it comes to cars. I know, I've raised two girls , have two sisters , and two granddaughters . I think even the aquarium fish are girls!! Oh, I also married a girl !

When I'm out smokin' an HHR with the greatest of ease, I surely don't think of my PT Turbo as a girl's car . . .

Cool Re: Consumer Reports says . . .

That's funny....odd!
A Consumer's Report article about 6 months ago had the PT Cruiser in the Top 10 for reliability! I assume they included Turbos in the mix then???
Duh!!!

CR has given the PT Turbo negative results from day one.

That's because they stomp Hondas.

I'm not a ford guy but wasn't the mustang designed to be a Girls car from day 1????????????????/----yes is the answer
and it has held out pretty good, they never had to discontinue making it just to wait several years and bring it back looking all retro
which is what the PT already looks like anyway from day 1

I have to agree with CR.

My car has 24k miles on it.

3 - Batteries
1 - wheel speed sensor
1 - PCV Valve (not sure what maintenance interval is on this)
1 - Leak in the brake system (whatever the brake equivalent of the master cylinder is)
1 - A/C system leak (waiting to get fixed)
1 - Fuel gauge doesn't read correctly or tank doesn't fill right. No matter how close to empty, I cannot get more than 9 gallons in the tank. (waiting to have it looked at)
1 - LED on seat heater switch failed. It has failed a second time and I don't care.
1 - Rear wiper is somehow out of alignment and goes past the window onto the rear of the car.
