STRUTS ON AN '03---66K???

Ok my '03 just had an estimate for struts and towers etc--total both sides just under 1k ---OUCH..is this normal for this car? I was stunned..any advise thankyou..MJB

! do it yourself! its pretty easy i did all my shocks and struts on my car for just over 200 dollars

i replaced the struts, mounts and rear shocks on my PT at 95000 miles, purchased tokico shocks and struts on e-bay for $215 included shipping, the strut mounts was purchased from NAPA at $49 a peice. if you have a spring compressor this job takes less than 2 hours for complete installation. from a scale of 1-10 this job a 3. just make sure the strut mount and bearing rotate correctly on the strut before installing, (check the haynes repair manual for proper rotation) or else the bearing will bind and cause a noise when turning.

AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE SO FAR:WHAT IS CAUSING ME THINK THIS BUT NOT TOTALLY CONFIRMED IS A THUMP OR BANG-HARD TO DESCRIBE-GOING OVER ASLIGHT BUMP=BUT WHEN BRAKES ARE ON IT DOESNT DO IT-COULD IT BE THE BRAKE SHOES -FRONT DISC ARE MOVING?? SO FAR 2 REPAIR SHOPS HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO PIN POINT THE NOISE... THE BOTH CONTROL ARMS WERE CHANGED LAST MARCH WITH NEW BUSHINGS FROM THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER..ADVICE?? THANKS AGAIN MJB

"CAP" is short for Capital in letters. You typed in all Capital Letters, which in computer language is like SHOUTING
