Question Cabin filter

Is it necessary to put on the grill? I forgot and don't want to mess with those screws. Does the grill hold the filter in place?

Thanks,

P

I don't see that it can hurt anything mechanically. The most it can do is fall out and sit next to the washer fluid reservoir. It just means it won't be doing any effective filtering... it will be like not having it there at all. So, if you want to filter outside air breakout the tools and finish the job. If not then let it be until you feel the urge.

Cool Re: Cabin filter

The cowling trim cover over the filter deflects a lot of bigger junk (like leaves, and water) from plugging up the cabin filter!

No where in the owners manual of my '05 L Turbo does it mention a cabin air filter... I'll have to look.

I don't think those of us here in the states has a cabin filter in our cars. I believe it is only those off shore and possibly up in Canada.

Just had a go at my own, 01 limited, no cabin filter just a plastic deflector behind the washer bottle. If you order Mopar#82206886 it is a housing/filter assy and replaces the OEM plastic deflector..$35.00 up here...takes only a few minites to install..DEBO
