Noise under car???

Ok when driving I get a almost plastically noise- I origionally thought it was the air box moving around but it wasnt anyway I test drove another -03 PT & it also did but worse(owner didnt even realize it-eeks) anyway do any of you techis know hat it could be-(control arms replaced last year)motor mounts?? engine moving? Im sure its a common thing?? HELP-anoying & two different shops couldnt find anything HELPMJB

No , it's not a common thing. Anyway, see if you can find someone with a lift that you can hoist the car while turning on the engine and someone is underneath looking and hearing for noises. You can get the wheels going and go threw the gears.

The soonercruiser made a lot of plastic rubbing noises last week - when I had the seats folded down carrying stuff in the back.
The seats down by any chance?

No its not the seats,,, it seems to come from under the drivers seat area but underneath(possibly the left front wheel area-maybe when hitting bump-another PT same year 2003 did it worse-is this the way the car rides?? ) 2 mechanice even with car in air couldnt find a thing...) perplexing?? Thanks anyone else have this??MJB

Yipee!! I went to another Chrysler Dealer & met the mechanic & he road tested my PT & heard the thump! He put it on the list & checked the control arm bushings & sway bushings( lubed control arm bushings & tightened sway bushing) crossing my fingers (quiet now) did note sway bushings may need replacing-rust around bolt) I think I have a new mechanic! & they didnt charge anything!! They have been mailing me litature to get my business so.... hopefully it a good shop! It was clean,modern etc,,, Im crossing my fingers & to add the mechanic drives a PT!!
