Default Applying chrome on the exterior?

Greetings, New to the board and have gotten a lot of info from you guys and girls. Any tricks to putting on the belt line addition? Also, ordered a 2008 bumper add on. Problem is that the PT I have has a license plate frame (and is required by law in Texas)

What's the best way to cut the one piece into 2 to make it fit.

Thanks in advance....................Rick

By the way try to introduce yourself by saying how much u love pt cruisers and looking to find a good forum to help with all your needs or something like that... it might help a lil bit more than "o its another guy /girl looking for quick answers" just trying to help

LOL, RRiigghhtt

Anyhow, go for it the chrome wont look bad just dont go over board and crome it to death. I hate seeing cars w/ WAY TOO MUCH and its major tacky. I actually do not have an answer for your question, but welcome to the forum, and I'm sure one of the others will def. have an answer for you.
Take Care

OK, I posted this question late last night and just wanted to get to the meat of the subject. I bought this 2008 Cruiser 2 months ago with 8900 miles on her. I have always wanted one and now I have one (and it's paid for).

Anyway, like I was asking above, The front bumper chrome add on comes in 1 piece. After looking at pictures and then looking at my PT, the one piece is not doable due to the license plate holder.

SO, what I need to do is cut the one piece into 2 to make it fit on either side of the of the license plate holder. This is 1 of those add ons that is held on with 3M tape. Would a hack saw be the way to go?

Thanks in advance and hope to be on here a lot............Rick

I think I found a solution to the front bumper/license plate. Mitch's sells a license plate holder for the PT that mounts below the bumper. Thanks for all your comments......Rick

21walker, welcome to the Forum!!! Many of us get our "chrome" parts from Maggie at raceandstreet.com and I find that most of the aftermarket parts ARE put on with 3M tape. In fact most of the chrome I had on my 2006, I was able to remove and install on my 2008 with new 3M tape after I cleaned everything off and used the 3M promoter on the new car.

Hi Hooligan and thanks for the welcome. I am also buying my chrome from Maggie. The problem I was going to face is the front bumper chrome application due to the factory installed license plate holder. However, I found a license plate holder at Mitch's that mounts below the bumper. So I will just take the factory installed holder off and install the chrome add on in one piece.........Rick
