Hooligan I don’t live far from your old stomping ground. I live about ¼ mile from Lock Two, which has been turned into a park and boat ramp now, plus I am just out of rock throwing distance from Opryland Hotel and the Grand Old Opry, the old Opryland Theme Park is now a shopping mall.
Glad you have it fixed now. We spent a week at a time share in Nashville about 3 years ago. It was located right behind the Opryland Mall, way to close. We did many tours in and around Nashville.

You must have been on the corner of Pennington Bend Rd and Mcgavock Pk. I live on Pennington Bend Rd. It's a small world Hooligan. If you are ever in this neck of the woods again drop me a note before you come and we will get together and do a little Cruisin.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

My pop pop pop pop popping noise is back back back back Well I guess it doesn't leave much left that it could be. I drove it around 150 miles yesterday and it did it once when I was backing out of a drive way with the wheel turned hard to the left this time. Oh well back to the drawing board.

i also had a popping noise on my 02 PT, only while turning and most noticeable during right hand turns, i was like you and replace the struts, control arms with ball joints, outter tie rod ends, sway arm bushings, for me it ended up to be right hand upper strut mount bearing,

Luvmysxs was your popping noise kinda like POP POP POP POP POP POP and each pop is pretty LOUD? Two people wondered if it was a strut mount but they weren't sure.

mine would popped 2-3 times while turning, if your strut was removed for replacement i would suspect the mounting plate with bearing was installed in the wrong rotation before installion on the car. the mounting plate is a 2 piece assy with a teflon bearing in between the top and bottom, the bottom piece turns with the strut and the top mounts to the vehicle, the strut mount looks round but it's actually oval in shape, if its installed in the wrong rotation the mount will hit inside the wheel well while turning. here's how to check if it's the strut mounting plate or bearing, just jack up on side at a time, have somebody start the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth full turns while you grab a hole of the strut, you will feel the cluck as it hits the wheel well or if you have a bad bearing.

I don't know if mine has ever been removed or not I got the it with 53000 miles already on the car. I will check that the first chance I get this weekend. It didn't make a sound all day today, not even a peep (which is smaller then a pop) plus I did a fair amount of backing out of parking spaces and drive ways too and nothing. Thanks for the information luvmysxs.
