Ok here goes. 02 pt cruiser, stock. Blew timing belt, fixed it. made sure all timing marks were perfect. started right up. put 15 miles on it, no problems. parked it for 3 days and would only turn over. started replacing stuff, battery, cam position sensor, crank position sensor, coil pack. pulled the front covers and all timing marks still line up. All the sudden it starts up, but really hard when cold. then when warm it idles fine but when you hit 2500 rpm it wants to cut out, like a limiter kicks in. as soon as you hit that 2500 rpm it throws the cps code. I am totally stumped. I'm now laid up, post shoulder surgery. i was hoping to get this thing figured out, but ran out of time. now my father in law is tryin to help me out with the wrench turnin. I need your help guys.

Sounds like it either skipped a tooth or wasn't exactly right on (the timing belt).
I had valve damage when my wifes went while she accelerated from a light (about 15mph) no1 had 2 bad exhaust valves and 1 intake, machine shop did em all just to be sure. Do you know that your valves are OK? I can't imagine you drove it for 15 miles with bent valves... spark, fuel/air, and compression. Got em all? |

"CPS code" = crank position sensor code displayed. Timing marks all verified for a third time. new, used computer installed. Ideas running out.
