It has really amused me to browse through this site and see the exact same issues with other Cruisers that I have experinced since purchasing it new back in 2003 (Touring Edition-Electic Blue Pearl Coat). Fan control module (blowing freon), multifunction switch (fogs lamps on), hazy headlamps. Have not had a whole lot of success with clearing them up even with parts store products. The head gasket has been replaced, 2 starters. The brake interlock would not fully disengage and was not allowing the transmission to be shifted out of park. Anybody have problems with real squeaky rear brakes?? Passaneger seat storage compartment wedged closed. Any reason why the fuel tank is on the passenger side?? Radio turns off when steering column is adjusted to the updright position. I have always liked the look of the car. Not overly thrilled with the fuel mileage for a 4 cylinder. I have pulled the rear tumble seats and now it's Part Truck. This was my wifes car and I bought her a new Kia Rondo SUV. I kept the PT for myself. God only knows why.

My wife has the KIA Rondo V6 Crossover and she loves it and I have my 9 year old PT with 97,000 miles with only the power steering pump, camshaft sensor wires and fan motor as problems over that time. I'll keep it till it literally dies and even then I might resurrect it and start all over.

In fact, yes. One of the easier fixes there is to do.

I had the same problem with the radio I found that if you push the key more it comes back on or if you have a lot of stuff on your keys it pulls the key out just enough to cut the radio out.
