new pt owner with a few questions

hi, I just got a 2006 pt a couple of days ago and for now I love it. But I have a few question:

1-is there any common problem with thems or things to specially check regulary?

2-is the window washer fluid tank under the hood providing washing fluid for the rear window too or is there another separate one?

3-is there a place where we can check the window washer fluid level other than by the filling hole in the left corner of the hood?

FWD Control arm bushings are a known week spot. Replace with polyurethane bushings never worry about it again. OEM brakes are known to dust lots and not really last long. So upgrade to better OEM replacement stuff and you will gain cleaner wheels and better stopping power. Gas milage is never going to be great, but you gain a very safe car in a crash - being a heavy pig does have an advantage in a crash. Auto trans can be a weak spot in these cars. So tell us what you have Manual/Auto, Turbo/Non-Turbo?

Nope same tank

Nope pop the hood, and you can always check your oil while you are there. Good habit to have anyways.

I forget about that one sometimes since I don't have fog lights in my daily PT.. I don't drive my GT enough to have burned it up yet.

Its a simple fix if you do blow the switch, a couple phillips head screwdrivers, flashlight(a couple of screws are really hard to see) a $60 dollar part and about an hour if you have no clue what you are doing. Lots less if you have a clue.

Ignition wires. Stock ones don't last - get a good brand and put in new plugs at the same time (gap at 0.040) and you won't get a stumble or hesitation.

Yeah. Buy one now, and always check your fog lamps when you shut down.

Cool now order replacement shifter bushings from boogerracing.com

Yours will be shot and creating lots of slop in the shifter.

And yeah you will get to miss the trans craziness of the autos that 5-speed should hold together for a very long time and just be fine..

though you will need to flush at 50K or so, even though its says lifetime fluid you should know what's going on in there at its lifetime midpoint.
