You can get them on E-Bay cheap and they are OEM.
Hope this helps.

Order the fobs off ebay take to dealer have them program them.. And if you only have 1 key order that off ebay to and have the dealer cut and program it, since you can only make more copies if you have two OEM keys. Fobs I believe you can program if you have one, but I've never tried it.

Quicky question you do have the grey chipped keys correct?

Hi,
Hope this doesn't sound too stupid but did all the pt cruisers (mine's 2004) come
with keyless entry? I only got 1 gray chip key with my car and no fob. Just wondering before I go to the expense of ordering one off ebay. Called the dealer
to see how much it costs to program and it's 56.00 (weird amount) does this sound about right? I probably should have asked the dealer my question

Thanks,
Karen AKA chintzgirl

Nope not in the early years. There were PT's with roll up windows and hand cranked mirrors. Even keyless was an option on the base model cars, standard on Touring/Limited cars. Power locks, windows, mirrors were the only options I ordered on my 01 so its a base model with a couple extras. In the early years people ordered cars so everything could be broken up options wise so I always ask when its an 01-02 car.

You have a grey key you have keyless, since they were intergrated together. You got one key - should be two keys two fobs. And the dealer will rip you for purchase price on the parts. But here is the deal - you need two keys and at least one fob(I am told you can do a fob but haven't tried it) to program more keys/fobs, otherwise its a dealer only service.

Its not cheap but what you gonna do? I paid $89 when I had them cut program one key and purchase program one fob back in 04. So $56 is reasonable.

So you buy on ebay to save yourself some cash.

In 06+ they went to the one piece key/fob deal so you know off the bat if you have it or not just by the key.

An '02 Limited certainly came with Remote entry.
I am 99% certain there are no PTs with crank windows - all have power windows, but keyless entry isn't on base models, but I thought central locking was (may vary by year).
