ashehri,
Just because you have hot air doesn't mean there's an electrical problem. Have you checked the freon/R143 level for proper balance? That's the first thing that goes wrong. A low level will shut the compressor off until it's refilled.

So, the mechanic said the levels are OK? Didn't he have any idea why your not getting cold air? Was the compressor cycling on and off like it's supposed to?
If you want to check, the fuse box in the engine compartment has the fuse for the air-conditioning. It's the No#11 fuse. ![]()

He told you there is freon inside but did he check it with guages to make sure the high and low sides have the correct amount? If not, you'll have to find a different place to have it checked out for the proper levels.

No, I don't know the correct amount but any competent mechanic with a set of gauges should know. I take it your not in the U.S. so is there any place that deals in air-conditioning where you live?

He's not telling you the truth. I've had my PT for 8 1/2 years and have only had 1 problem with the A/C and that was the pressure switch on top of the accumulator which went bad and I was getting too cold, in fact it was freezing up because of the bad switch.
If it's fixed right by a competent mechanic and the proper tools/guages then the A/C should work for years without a problem unless one of the parts break or wear out but that could happen to any car.
