Default Going on a Road Trip with the PT

Hey guys,

a friend and I are going on a road trip today (~3000 miles). We'll be driving from Vancouver all the way down to L.A. through Seattle and San Fran., from L.A. we'll be driving to Vegas and Salt Lake City from where we'll be heading back home.

Do you guys recommend any special treatment to the PT? Especially for the driving in the desert. There is nothing wrong with it, I just wanna make sure nothing happens.

Other than the obvious checking your fluids, tires, etc... before you leave I wouldn't think you'd need to do anything else.

It's been 100 degrees here for a week and my PT hasn't missed a beat.... Haven't taken a 3000 mile trip with it but I did drive round trip (500 miles) to Atlanta last weekend... AC remained ice cold and engine temp remained where it always has, which is just a hair below halfway on the gauge.

I'd change out your oil before the trip.
Also be sure to keep plenty of fluids with you. Pre-mixed coolant, an extra quart of oil, etc.
Make sure your spare isn't flat, just in case.
Check tire pressures.

Annnd you should be alright.
