Interesting.....with all the negative talk around here, about gas milage, I decided to check my new-to-me '08 Cruiser's milage. Now bear in mind, my last car was an Eagle Talon, and I drove it hard. Every shift was over 5 grand, and I wasted no time getting up to speed! However, I accept a car for what it is, and I've let the Cruiser slow me right down, to sane driving.
My milage......27.36. No complaints, here! Oh ya.....I, as well, buy only Sunoco 87 octane. Last edited by MassCruiser; 08 Aug 2009 at 08:32 am. |

Man I miss my 2g eclipse GST
That thing was a blast. I only got like 16mpg in that; granted, I had to constantly hear my b16g turbo spooling up :PBut 27mpg is very good. Thats not bad at all. Whats your percentage city/highway driving?

I mostly drive country roads. Very little highway driving. My drives to work are just ten minutes long, but I drive quite a few hour-long trips in the course of a tankful, too. I hit traffic lights, here in town, but I've slowed W-A-Y down, which I think is most likely the key to better milage. Also, I don't wind it up when the light turns green. Smooth....that's the name of the game, today.

yea i say the PT needs a little bit of a face lift and a better engine/trans to get more MPG, but diesel is a good idea too. maybe all PT cruiser owners should contact chrysler to keep the cruiser going but make altercations to the body and engine. maybe it'll change their mind or at least consider it. I would buy a new PT if it was diesel and got 28/37 City/highway on diesel to make my total number of PT's to 3.

I must be dong something wrong because I am getting between 21 and 24 in town. I am driving and 08 with a standard transmission. The best I have gotten on strictly highway driving is a touch over 32 mpg.
