Default Top Speed.

So I finally got my PT to reach 120.

I'm proud of myself. (even though it's illegal.) lol

(I was just kidding)

Alex,

Why are you so proud? All you did was (hopefully) pick a deserted road, point it straight and put you foot to the floor and hold it there for about 45 seconds. The 2.4 ltr engine did all the work, screaming all the way. By the way, there's a computer controlled limiter which cuts fuel at around 110 so you better check your speedometer, it's off calibration.

Granted, the PT isn't a SUV but I saw the aftermath of this on the 26th while on my lunchbreak.

Update:* I-95 Accident Kills One | WSAV

I saw the wrecker pulling off the interstate. The SUV had red coolers hanging out the back and judging by the Florida tag I'd say it was a vacation gone horribly wrong.

I've had mine up to 80-85 Interstate driving and that's as fast as I'll probably ever take it...

Edit... Just saw your other thread.

I'm only 16 too but I drive responsibly, unlike the majority of my friends.

I am a young cruiser myself, hence my name. Anyways, I would hop it was a deserted road, I'm only 16 with my License since march but had my car prob for about 2 years. I def would never even attempt to go 110 in my little car.

That's good to hear, about the driving responsibly.... Not trying to sound like somebody's dad because I'm only 34 myself, but I've seen a lot in the past 17 years of driving....

A couple years ago I was driving back from Savannah on 516 with my wife about 2am and this guy came around the curve from another highway to merge... going WAY too fast... he hit the guardrail, swerved across the highway and flipped 6 or 7 times... I just happened to look up in my rearview and saw it all first hand.

I was the only one around so I stopped, backed up and all I heard was this guy screaming. Blood was all over the OUTSIDE of the vehicle... I called 911 and they were there in about 5 mins.

As it turned out his head came out the window and hit the pavement... he died at the hospital. The paramedic told me the back of his head was mush.

In addition my cousin's husband was killed about 7 years ago at 6am on his way to work... not his fault, he was Tboned by a guy also on his way to work who ran the red light while speeding. Both were dead at the scene.

As far as how fast the PT will go, Crewzin has stated there is a limiter that will keep it at 110-120 mph tops... As said, I haven't had mine above 80-85 and don't plan to either.

So... To tell you all the truth my friend posted that. I left my laptop on my bed with the forum open and i guess he wanted to say something. I had no Idea he had even posted anything until i looked at the forum again. I never really got to 120. The fastest I have ever gone is around 85. Even then I was on a deserted highway in the middle of nowhere and there wasn't any cars around.

I usually drive really responsibly. But I just had to go fast at least once.

Hopefully you'll all forgive me.
