Well here in PA we reject the inspection meaning there is a no charge retest with in 30 days of the first try. I don't write the rules I just have to follow them.

What happens if you just put a new battery in, or had some service work that required that the battery be disconnected. Half the procedures in the Haynes and Chilton manual start off with "disconnect the negative battery cable".

That's a stupid thing to do, fail someone for the battery being disconnected.

So, I just spent $1000 to have the timing belt replaced before anything goes wrong (preventative maintenance) and then I take it in for inspection and you fail me because the battery was disconnected?
Welcome to NJ.

Remind me to go thru PA on the way to the Big Apple next time. Probably save me a few bucks taking 95 anyway instead of the wallet robbing NJ Turnpike.

Here in England they call it MOT every year. My PT failed this year because the yellow turn bulbs were not yellow enough. They replaced them with fresh bulbs for only £12.00 each installed. Bend over and pay or park, Govt needs money--andy
