I don't understand. What is the code that it's throwing? If you know it's for the power steering you should know the code.
It might be the pump... ![]() It might be the switch...

Hi CREWZIN, Thanks so much for the info on my trouble light related to Power Steering. The ( CEL ) code it threw was P0551 . Does this allow you to figure a more specific response?. (Also We're going to ask the dealer about the recall, I guess on our 01 there was a power steering hose recall " something about it being to close to the exhaust manifold and fire haz.)
Thanks MUCH in advance ! ! ! D~ |

I put the switch in last night on our 01 , not too bad of a Job, I think the switch needed a 22 mm deep socket to exchange the part (I did a power steering fluid swap while I was in the works of all of it. Hope it all works well. Runs fine now.
Anyway, thanks again for all you help and great pics which helped me find the culprit sensor.(ps?I could tell it was bad when I pulled the electrical connector and it started dripping fluid.) D~ |

I put in a little Lucas power steering snake oil , tank was a little low and pump was just a touch noisy..I don't remember just what code that popped up after this but it generally said the power steering pressure was out of normal limits...So What -- oil is a little thicker and pump is quieter. I'd bet it will last longer too..
