Default service manual

I know there is already a thread covering this topic but I couldnt find it.
I dl'ed a service manual from epay that said it covered all cruisers from 01 thru 08. Well it almost did.......it did NOT cover any turbo versions except the diesel. Other than that it looks good. NOW if I can find a manual that will cover my 06 GT turbo I will be happy!!!

Bill

Bill, go to the Tech & Performance section of this forum and check out all the stickys that are on the top. There's different manuals for all years.

They're usually pretty cheap if you look on eBay. They're year-specific and I'd much rather have a paper version to take out to the garage with me.

Aren't all those at Tech & Performance parts manuals and not service manuals? Looked that way to me when I downloaded the 2005 one.

fljohnboy, your 100% correct, they are PARTS manuals from Candyman. I never looked at them after I attached them to the forum. I changed the name when you open up the thread to see the download but I can't change the title.

I do have one sticky for the 01-04 models that IS a service/repair manual. I don't know if or how much of the turbo's it covers. There should be a lot of things in it that would help repair/service the rest of the cruiser. It's still in the Tech & performance section and the title is:

FREE 01-04 PT Repair Manual

Thanks Crewzin, I didn't look at the years on there just the 2005 one. I would suppose the non turbo and turbo will have a lot of similarities in general.

I don't think that dealers use a manual that covers all the years in one manual. From what I know, these are the manuals dealers use:
2001
2002
2003
2004
2005
2006
2007
2008

If you keep your eyes open, you can get a good deal on them. I paid $40 shipped for the set for my car. Newer ones may be more expensive since they could be harder to come by.

Here are the two paper manuals I have:

HAYNES Repair Manual CHRYSLER PT CRUISER 01-03 #25035:eBay Motors (item 280370729548 end time Aug-11-09 08:28:41 PDT)

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Repair Manual 2001-2003

Both explain about the 2003 turbo models when there is a difference in what they are explaining. Chilton has larger pictures and about 50 pages of wiring diagrams compared to about 30 pages in the Haynes manual.

If the turbo hasn't changed that much from 2003 to 2008 it might be worth picking either of these up to help in maintenance.
