OK, I checked fuse number 11 under hood and it is good. Replaced the High Side Switch on the compressor and still no cold air. I am told that the freon is good as well. The timming belt broke and got replaced, this is when the a/c stopped working. Any way the compressor could have blown with the timming belt? Any suggestions?

Is the compressor coming on when you turn on the A/C?

No the compressor does not come on at all.

The timing belt shouldn't have anything to do with the compressor not coming on, but the A/C lines are disconnected 95% of the time to make room to replace the belt. It's possible the mechanic did something.
The fuse is good, the freon (R134) is good, the high side switch was replaced. I think it's time for professional help from an A/C shop or your dealer rather than internet help. The compressor needs to be checked as well as the computer.

FSU, I just went though the no AC on our 2003. After doing all the high tech stuff like assuming sensors were bad and AC was under/over charged, we found that the high speed portion of the fan was bad. Took it all apart, replaced the fan motor and radiator since it was leaking, and hoses and belts and bleeder screw, and added 24 ounces of 134A, and now it works fine again.
Even cooler is I found that the reason the fan motor quit on high speed is one of the brushes is worn out. So, I am having a motor shop replace it and will have it ready to go back on to replace the cheap import one I had to buy. Tom |
