it would be nice to see a hybrid PT Cruiser than was in the high 30's for MPG, also with projector headlights and other amenities but all in all they shouldn't get rid of something that has been selling great. just remodel it and make it run and look better. Maybe i should show Chrysler the projectors i put on my 01, maybe that will help them keep the cruiser and make modifications to make it better.

I have to agree with the diesel. I believe that's the future of automobiles, not hybrids. Also, look into the environmental impact of hybrid technology and the dangers of it. I know I would love to have a diesel model from Europe to convert into a waste oil machine.

Ok let me clarify my post: The PT is awesome in that it has many great ideas that make it assible for easy entry-unique style-alot of great thought out ideas..etc... The CUBe in its own right ran with these ideas but gets better MPG and some better ideas etc... ( I dont like the Cube in the look) but I do undestand what Nissan has done in copying the PT... ) The PT had the market but could have capitalized for many years with real change-not cutbacks! Just my opinion... Honda & Toyata have done it for years! MJB

Heavy car? Outdated engine? Aerodynamic? My '97 Explorer (V8 and All Wheel Drive with 187,000 miles) gets an average of 21.5 mpg, about what a lot of people get with a PT. My Explorer is certainly heavier than a PT and is no more aerodynamic. It has a push rod 302 V8, which dates back to 1968! The Explorer V8 makes a lot more power than the PT 4 banger, too. I can think of no reason at all that any PT should get less than 30 mpg. The technology is there... Chrysler should use it. |
