Default I guess I should say Hello!

Hi everyone. I'm new here, but not to forums, cars and customizing.

I'm active on the truck and general forums on moparts.com, the 1st Gen board on dieseltruckresource.com and the E38 section of bimmerboard.com.

I just got a 2009 PT Cruiser LX, Stone White, 5 Speed. I was able to trade in an old BMW I couldn't sell to save my life on the Cash for Clunkers program. The PT Cruiser was the only car I even considered, since I've wanted one for quite a while.

As you can see from my handle and signature, I have way too many cars, but hey, a guy has to have a hobby.

What I've done to the PT so far ;

Replaced REF AM/FM/CD with RAQ AM/FM/6CD/MP3 (had it laying around)
Tinted rear windows (20%)
Clay bar'd the whole car
Removed silencer from air filter box and removed wheel well access panel
California Cruisers dual exhaust

Things I plan to do in the very near future ;

Sound deadening in rear floor, quarters and hatch (exhaust drone)
Mopar PT Subwoofer kit install
uConnect Bluetooth kit install
EVS1 Alarm system kit install
Front component speakers (door/dash)
Rear door 3 way speakers

Longer term plans ;

Wood grain kit
Probably lots of little stuff

Welcome to the forum.

Tell me more about your "removed wheel well access panel".

Now I take it your trying to get more air up to the air filter box and I guess that would work but you sure are letting the splashing water from the tires get right into the headlights area and inner area of the body. Don't you think that will cause trouble in the long run?

I removed the access panel that lets you change the low beam bulb to let in cold air and just jammed it down behind the battery for now to block hot air. I don't know if it'll help much, but it can't hurt. Since we only get about 20 days of rain a year here, I'm not too worried. I wouldn't do it if I lived in Florida, Washington or Oregon where it rains a lot more often.
