Hi,

Which motor oil shall i use in my PT 02 52k??

Welcome to the Forum!!! Most of us use Mobil 1synthenic for the Oil, 5,000 between changes.

thanks, i've seen a few different types 0w/40, 15w/50, 5w/30

which would be best and what are the differences for my PT?

I use 5w30 Amsoil in mine. Just about any quality synthetic is better than regular oil. As for the weight, there's been discussions about that but I stick with what is recommended on the cap or slightly lighter for the winters.

It all depends where in the US you live. Can't help as your profle isn't filled out. Go to CP in the upper left corner and fill if you wish.

2001 99,000 Mobil 1 5W30. Mobil M1-102 filters also. 5k between changes.

5W30 is the Chrysler recomended blend. Way back in the early 2000's Chrysler came out with a TSB spelling out their recomendations for the vehicles in production then. If you use a bled that has a heaver viscosity you may set a Check Engine Light (CEL). You can look up this TSB on the WWW to see the entire discussion.

Personally, I prefer synthetic over dino--less chance of sludge build up and I feel the performance factors justify the small additional cost for the longer period between oil changes--I also go at the 5000 mile point or yearly--wich ever come first.

My ride has 3120 miles and is 14 months old. I am on my second change based on time on earth and the stop and go driving I do.

2006 pt with 58000km, I use castrol syntec 5w30 and NAPA filters every 10000km
