Default BEST WHEEL CLEANER?

My Mom's '06 PT has the factory polished rims. What cleaner is best to remove the brake dust? The dust has been on the rims since she bought it in April and I've already tried a couple of cleaners with no luck.
Thanks.

Probably you should change to ceramic pads on the front, they have the least amount of brake dust.

While the wheels are off, you will be able to soak the dust off with water and soap (I use Simple Green) rinse well and put a coat of wax.

Hey their MOMSGT,

Do you have a pic so I can see how bad they are? Let me know and I can try to put together a way to fix your problem.

Go eazy,

Thanks for the responses. I will be upgrading to ceramic pads next brake job. I will post some pics as soon as the rain stops. They look to be stained.

I had some serious brake dust that would not come off even with heavy scrubbing...& steam from a car wash ( I only had them do the wheels)..so someone suggested superfine steelwool & it worked great ..... while soapy.....took the embedded dirt off to brand new & no marring on the wheels....please note that this only works for the chrome finish wheels....do not do this on alum alloys ...it will scratch...
