Default 2002 pt Cruiser

I have a 2002 and the car is overheating .I replaced the radiator cap t-stat and low speed fan relay. It's still doing it.I can't get the fan to come on .Also when I went to the parts store the worker suggested to replace the module he claimed it was a dealer part only and it was behind the right side head light anybody ever replace this part .Also how can I trouble shoot the fan.I don't want to just swap out parts if there still good.

Welcome.
Odds are it's the fan itself. With car idling, switch on A/C - fan should come on. If it doesn't
Do a search on fan or overheating....

Mopar, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep parts wholesale prices
I found this and I see the module is part number 8 at the bottom of the fan has anybody found this part to be the cause of the fan not coming on.

Hi. Not sure what "module" your talking about behind the headlight. I think that person must be thinking about a different car. You have two fan relays inside the fuse box that's in the engine compartment (high and low speed fan) the coolant temperature sensor by the thermostat and the PCM itself. They all control the fan. The fan motor itself had a single wire harness that is about 10 inches long and goes into a connector at the back of the fan It's reached from getting underneath the car. Pulling the connector apart, you can put a positive and negative wire to the part of the connector still leading to the motor. The fan motor should start. If not, the motor is probably burnt out. You can buy the motor separately or the whole motor and shroud with fan blades, but either way, the whole thing has to come out of the car to fix it. I've put a sticky on the top of the Tech & Performance section of this forum to help you step by step in removing the fan.

No#8 is the whole fan and shroud. It's not at the bottom, it's pointing to the whole assembly of the shroud and fan. Here a link from eBay. You can pick up the whole thing for $83.99 plus FREE shipping. There is NOTHING behind the right headlight!

I put a multi-meter on the fan and I'am getting resistance of 17 ohms ,I think the fan is still good.I believe it would read infinitiy if the fan was toasted.
