Default PT Convert

We just purchased a 2006 PT in a lovely colour called Magnesium Pearl. We pick it up today and I am SO excited!

My old vehicle, a KIA rio 5, was totalled in a recent rear-end accident and I was terrified to drive another sub-compact car.

We looked at everything in that class, trying to find something larger and the nicest car we found was the PT!

I have to admit, I used to hate them, but one test drive and I was in love.

SO comfortable and easy to drive! So much cargo room!

I have a few questions, though and wondered if there are any experts that can answer them for me?

Our PT has a tiny spoiler, Chrome handles, Air, Tilt, Cruise. Is this the base model?

Also, what do you recommend to clean the upholstery? We have a Little green machine and are thinking of doing it ourselves.

Will post a picture soon!

THANKS!!

The model of a PT is usually recognized by the emblem in the back. While the base model does not have an emblem for it.

I used to drive a 91 Mustang LX and when I was looking for a new car I almost got a RX-8 but then I decided for college I needed something practical.

Hope you enjoy your PT for many years

Hmmm, didn't look specifically at the back... will have to do that tonight.

I just thought the Chrome handles might be an indicator...most PTs I have seen have same colored handles.

Yours looks great!

If you talking about the door handles, look again at the other PT's your seen. They all have chrome handles including the Base, Touring, Limited and GT models. I've also seen advertisements for an "LX" model which is brand new (if it's true) and even that had chrome handles.

if there is no badging, just to be sure, you can check the VIN, and it should tell you which model it is.Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Report

Yepper, I wish the GT's had color-matched handles!!! They all got chrome one's..

Now you gotta post pics of your's here!!! lol

The Magnesium Pearl is the color I wanted, just couldn't find the model I wanted in that color. Had to be a GT convertible with a Getrag G288 tranny, the only one I could find in the country at the time I was looking was a Bright Silver Metallic, so close so went ahead and bought it. Glad I did!
