Angry Help?! frustrate and confused ruff running

I am in need of some assistance on my 04 (non turbo) with some repeating problems.
first of all i bought it used and the previous owner put a helicoil in the number 4 cylinder and didn't use a long enough insert so it blew out the spark plug. i got the proper insert and it is still giving me the code for #4 cylinder misfiring. what can i do?? would i be better off changing the head? if so do i go with OEM or is there a better aftermarket choice??

second. the car has started to run rough when it is on the freeways, it will not let me get above 55 mph, it runs fine around town till i go to stop then it wants to die. what is causing this?? o2 sensors or the map sensors?

Welcome.
Step 1 - Get new wires (NOT stock ones) and plugs. Gap plugs at 0.040.
Put them in - here's a guide:
Spark Plug Guide
If that doesn't do it, spray starter fluid along the intake manifold joints by the engine - if idle smooths out, you have a bad intake gasket - not expensive or hard to replace.

Okay, then intake gasket is next most common problem.

let me clarify a little here

when i am driving around the city, and as i let off the gas pedal, it starts running ruff and dies if i let it, if i am at a stop it will idle smooth.

I was focused on the Cyl 4 misfire, and most common causes.
What you describe sounds like IAC (Idle Air Controller)

Take it off and clean it.
