I always change the wires when I change the plugs. To me they go hand in hand. I want to get wire that last longer then 30k. I pretty the iridum plugs will last longer then 30k.

the iridum plugs last longer and the platinum last longer and the are great especially if you have really hard spark plugs to get to. But if your plugs are easy to reach use copper.Copper will transfer heat better they conduct electricity better. Copper gives you better performance. If you got one of those cars were you have to lower the transmission to get to the plugs hey a 100k plus plug is a great thing!

New question. It has been suggested to me that I use 8mm or 8 1/2mm wire. Can I do that when the plugs are 7mm?

Yes. I did. I used MSD wires. Works fine. It's the OEM wires that are 7 mm. not the plugs.

Correct. Fatter wires (as a rule of thumb) last longer (more insulation).

Exclamation Re: iridium spark plugs

G'day all,

This is a topic that is subject to many points of view..
Good research is a must b4 you comit..

I have used the Champion & the NGK as listed. in the past &

I do find it hard to compare, as I changed to Iridium,Livewires,Screemin Demon & 18v coil voltage upgrade, all in one hit.

May I say that there is a remarkable differance. & BTW I have opened the plug gap up to 55thou, combined with iridium 0.6mm electrode it is an electrifying combo.
in use now over 12mths NEVER misses a beat.
& she see's 5000+ every day of the week..

So in my opinion, "for what its worth" GO with the Iridium...

Cheers Andrew...
