Default 04 PT Cruiser LE

I have a 04 Cruiser with 79000 miles with a few issues. Having problems with rough running. I changed the PVC valve and will change the wires as soon as it stop raining. Will this help with the rough running. I changed the plugs a couple of months ago with Bosch Platinum plugs. Also my check engine light is on and the code is P0304. Can anyone tell me what that means? My last issue is the fog lights. One night, they decided to stay on after I turned off the lights. The only way to get them off was to remove the fuse. Is there a relay that may need replacing to get them to work correctly. Thanks for any help I can get.

Sylvester

Welcome.
P0304 is cyl 4 misfire. New wires should cure that, but it is usually good to do plugs & wires at the same time.
Your "multifunction switch" crapped out. It's the left "arm" on the steering wheel. You buy the whole arm, and it's easy to replace with a small torqx driver. When you order be sure to get a MF switch with the fogs...they come without, too.

Thanks Quick. I will buy new plugs to go along with the wires so everything will be new.

Hey Quick, I'm looking on O'Reilly now and is the dimmer switch the same as the multifunction switch? That's they only thing they have listed as far as switches.

s welcome to the Forum. The dimmer switch should be the same, do they sow a pic? Dealers have 5,000 on back order last I heard. The MF switch controls the fog, parking and head lamps and is sold as a unit. Dealer price is probably about $80-90. If O Riely's is a great deal less than that, it's NOT the same.

Did they give you a time frame? If it is from the mfg. and if Dealers say 5K+ backorder, you'll be waiting a while. Good Luck!!

Good luck with that. I was lucky that my dealership saw how many were failing and bought a stock of them. I took mine in and got it replaced in 20 miinutes while they changed the oil. Hard not to like that!!! Also, do not trust anyone with a non-OEM MFS. There were some chinese ripoffs out there a while back and they didn't work with a darn.
