Default Considering a GT 5spd. What should I look out for?

Is there anything that go wrong with the PT/GT's that I should keep an eye out for while looking at some used examples (i.e. rust, suspension or mechanical issues)?

Thanks
Troy

Need more info: year, mileage, etc...

Otherwise, the usual items in buying any car.

FWD control arm bushings(known to go bad on any PT) not just the 5-speeds. Polyurethane bushings fixes that problem once and for all..

Shifter bushings underhood - known to cause shifting issues, - easily fixed with booger bushings they are polyurethane.

Clutches - as with any stick shift. Should engage correctly but with high milage cars slipping is not unheard of.. Wear part so just plan to replace it and the throw out bearing.

Trans is a rock crusher so it should be a bit clunky but rock solid and quiet.

Rust not really an issue to just the 5-speeds
Rocker panels
Inside of fenders front/rear
Bottoms of doors at the drain points
And any spot you think was an accident repair..

Check the multifunction switch - headlight/foglight switch.. Known to go bad, if the fog lamps don't work - not a big deal but you want a $100 off the price of the car for the part.. Its a DYI repair with a phillips screwdriver and hours time if you are a first timer tearing anything car apart.. 1/2hr if you have a clue..

The silver 03 GT is gone, but a Solstice has arrived. There are three more PT's to play with though

My personal thanks to veteran and novice crewbies that have offered information and how-to's they have been instrumental in taking LiquidPT from modded car to stock to live a more quiet and sedate life.

03 and up

More than 50k

Some car's like Phord Exploders are known for rusty rockers etc. Just wondering if there's issues with Cruisers...
