How do I get the shift knob off of a 5spd PT? I found one at the junk yard yesterday that had been rolled, I wanted to take the shift knob off, but I couldn't get it. So I took the entire shift assembly. I was hoping it would be a twist on knob, that I could use on my Acura Legend.

You have to pop it off. It is not threaded.

I carefully wrapped a rag around the button of the knob, and tapped upwards carefully with a small hammer!
