Yeah, you're getting your poor Cruiser fixed, and your boss is paying your deductible: like others have said, that's all to the good.
And with any luck, your boss --- aka truckdriver's uncle! --- will take it outta his hide..... nobody can hold a grudge like family!

i thinks it wrong your boss cant just say ye our truck hit your car im very sorry i will pay the bill for you . as that would be the proper thing to do and the would be no hard feelings etc
but to deny it and then thy to hide damage on there truck is totally wrong but him paying the $500 and rental car etc is as good as saying its there fault lol ![]() i hope you get it sorted very soon

Thanks for the replies everyone.
He has repeatedly denied it, but as said, it's a happy no cost ending for me, so I'm letting it go. I'm expecting the car back at the end of the week and will post photos.

Well I got my car back last night.
They did the body work and also gave it a front end alignment. Thanks for mentioning OEM parts Candyman, that's what I told the guy when I dropped it off last week. He said that the Allstate guy insisted on aftermarket but that I had exercised my option to decline aftermarket parts and go with OEM. Here's the before and after photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think they did an excellent job. There is nothing I can see that resembles blend lines and they even took out 2 scratches that I had on the right fender and door completely... both were removed, painted and blended and I can't see any abnormalities. The only thing I noticed is to the left of the right headlight where the bumper meets the fender I have some chipped paint in the seam. To be perfectly honest though it's the least of my concerns right now. The guy told me if I had any issues to bring it back and he'd take care of it. Now, as far as my boss paying the $500 deductible.. I got shafted. He told me last week that if I didn't call the cops on his nephew that he would pay my deductible. Tuesday he said "When your car is done have them fax me an invoice and I'll give you a check." Yesterday they called, I got the invoice, and he gave me the check with the comment "How much do you want taken out of your check each week?" I was baffled, and I said "I thought we agreed that you would pay it if I kept my mouth shut?" He replied "I know what I told you but I decided that it would be better if you paid me back." So when you do the math on it, I'm patting his nephew on the back saying "it's ok that you hit my car causing $2000 damage, I'll pay $500 out of my pocket just please don't do it again." It's a total crock, and I've lost all respect for the man after he told me one thing and did another.. They are deducting $40 per week out of my check for the next 3 months. Personally, I could give a rats arse about the $500, it's the point that he went back on his word to me. I guess it's to be expected though from someone who is rich... my car has been repaired with the evidence gone so he changed his mind.

That's ok. Let's just hope be breaks down on mlk in the middle of the night. I would say, if you are called in on a day off that you tell him, "Oh, sorry, can't help you, Ive got some more important things to do."
also would say that next time he offers to "take care" of anything you say you want it in writing. I would also call the police to see what they would suggest. Tell them it was an incident that occured at work, and that the boss decided he would like to take care of it without the police involvement and that after the repairs were under way that your boss decided to change his mind. You did have a report started didn't you? I may be remembering wrong.

Yes I did have a police report done... they told me to contact them again with any further info... obviously, I haven't yet.
As far as Allstate, they are aware that I have a pretty good idea who did it, but I have yet to forward them anything else. Personally, all deals are off after what he pulled yesterday... the only thing is, the man is my boss and a max unemployment check is about 1/3 of what I regularly take home in a week. I guess I gotta just bend over and take it...

Well. Last I checked that counts as retaliation for actions that have nothing to do with work. I would just let him know that you are just having to Finnish the police report to avoid your insurance from going up. That it's nothing against him and the deal you guys struck up. But don't take my advice too hard. I've always been all for bending upper management over when they do the same to us. Lol

He commented on my job last week when all of this happened... hinting "that he would hate to see me lose it." I'm really at a loss what to do.. it's eating at me to say the least.
