My 2006 PT is stuck in the mud. My only vantage point is to pull it backwards. Where on the car would I connect the towing straps?
I couldn't find anything in the booklet or the search on this site. Thanks in advance, Andre |

ill go take a look but my guess would probably be from the rear axle
Edit: yup thats where id do it. make sure its with a recovery strap and not a tow strap. the difference is the metal hook. you DO NOT want to use that for recovery. i know the PT is light but that hook can snap off and go through your window or worse into your head. ive seen it happen more times than i care to remember. also if the vehicle that is pulling you out has a tow hitch DO NOT use the tow ball. same thing can happen.

That's exactly where I ended up attaching it. The axle worked perfect. I did use the straps with the hook. However, I wrapped it around and attached it to itself. With my wife in the car backing up while I pulled, it went very easily. I used 4 - 2,800lb straps. Overkill? Sure, but I wanted to avoid the possibility of the straps breaking by distributing the weight out. Thanks Andre |

thats good you did it in a safe manner. not everyone will have recovery straps handy and i wouldnt imagine a PT Cruiser getting so stuck it would break a strap but you never know. glad to hear you got it out

Me too. The rains just started again (central Texas) and will continue for the next couple of days. Who knows when the ground would have been hard enough again to get it out. LOL.
