I chose the PT because of its retro style. Being a graphic designer, I definitely notice good design, and the PT has it. Most cars on the road, especially Japanese ones, look so similar and I love how the PT stands out.
I wont be buying another Chrysler after this PT though--it is a one shot for me, as I have no love for Chrysler--or any American manufacturer.

), but admittedly, if I had to replace the PT today, it would be with another PT.So, I would ask this: Would you buy another PT if it continued to meet your needs or would other factors not directly related to a particular model persuade you to buy a vehicle from a different manufacturer? Thanks!

I dont like the new PTs, so no, I would not buy another. But I did buy a 2nd one after my first one was wrecked--I did love my Plum 05! So I bought a black 04 Limited. I didnt buy another new one because they are too stripped down now. I can finally afford a nice car, so I wanted the leather, sunroof, satellite radio etc... and now all Chrysler offers is the lame "Classic" model. However, there were quite a few quality issues with my 05, which I bought new, so I dont think I would buy another new Chrysler--and with their problems since then, I think it would be really foolish.
I will probably go back to Mazda, their cars are sporty and their quality very good (my 94 Mazda lasted for 11 years and 200,000 miles, all with little help from me!). The Mazda Speed is just cool!

I got my '04 base model about 4 months ago. I wrecked my wife's Civic when I pulled out of a parking lot and was hit by a car that was in a blind spot as I crossed three lanes of traffic.
We had a set budget and while I really had my heart set on a convertible Mustang, they were just a bit more than what we could pay. After going through everything with the bank to get our financing, the PT was the only car in the price range that I wasn't vehemently opposed to. In fact, I have always thought they were cool little cars. Like some of the other people who replied, I had ridden in rentals a couple times and being a big over 6 feet tall, leg and head room were all important issues for me. What sealed the deal for me was a friend who owns a company that uses the PT as their fleet vehicle. He owns 24 of them, so I had a chance to really talk to someone who would know how good or bad they really were. Based on this experience, I would buy another one, but I think it would have to be an older model. I don't much care for the dash styling and layouts of newer models. |

We had been with the Toyota RAV4 from the beginning in 1996. We've had 3 of them including the 2-door. But they kept making them bigger and bigger until they sized us out. My husband got rear-ended in our last RAV and the insurance company gave us a PT Cruiser rental. I'd never been in one, and was leery of the maker, but at the time I was doing a Breakfast Club with some church ladies and the roomy backseat was the seller.

I've liked the look of the PT since it came out, always noticing them in traffic. It was about time to let my other vehicle go; finding the PT in an ad at a local lot. I went by and found it to be a Turbo as well and after some serious negotiating, took it home.
I must say, that I have been a bit disappointed with it (mpg's, handling, idle vibration and some other) after the 'new-to-me' wore off. I'm looking for something (?) else.

Our 2006 Touring replaced a 1999 Dodge Neon that was taken from us by a distracted driver.
Why the PT? We found the right deal on Craigslist, great set of features for our price range, and the packaging of seating, folding, doors, hatch, etc. just fits well into our life. It feels like a small car from the driver's seat, seems large when you walk around it, but is nimble in parking lots. Every place you look there is something to delight in a economy car. My one and only beef with this car, so far, is that the front seats are mounted about 2 inches too high. Give me a little time and a few more miles and I might complain about tight access in the engine bay.
