I didn't mean to imply that Florida PT's battery is leaking. But if a flooded cell battery gets tilted too far, it can dribble a little bit. That's what I was getting at.

In the 1970s, one technician at the Montgomery Ward in Fremont, CA installed new batteries and always dribbled a little on the fenders. That was back when 90% of cars had a type 24 battery next to the fender. I could always tell in a parking lot where a car owner bought their battery by the fender measles.

I just put a new Excide battery in mine. Got it at Sam's. $64.00. They would install it but I did it there myself. I didn't want them messing with things. Free replacement for 3 years and pro-rated for 96 months. Having said that, I also put one in my Navigator a little over a month ago. The next morning it was nearly dead. I spent a month chasing electrical gremlins thinking the car was drawing the battery down. I had never bought a bad brand new battery in my life. After a month and finding nothing I checked the battery. Sure as hell, it had a dead cell .. of course free replacement ..

I think i have tried just about every brand out there the heat here in the deep south will push a lousy battery over the edge easy. From my experience very expensive experience with buying cheap batteries and having to replace them. Get a Interstate,Diehard or AC Delco. All three are excellent batteries. I have a Interstate now no problems before that was a AC Delco no problems. Stay away from Autozone and Advance Auto Pep Boys the batteries are junk.

I've had Diehard's in my Vette and they kept letting me down. Couldn't hold a charge when the Vette stayed idle in the garage for awhile. Switched to Autozone Gold when I had to replace the alternator and had it in there for 1 1/2 years now with no problems but now I use a Float Charger when I go up north for a couple weeks.

Put a BOSCH in the PT about 2 years ago with no problems so far.
