Question 06 PT cruiser Battery

Are all car batteries the same? I need a replacement and was wondering if brand matters? Best? Worst?

Thanks

Best on the market are the AGM batteries like the Odyssey brand (aka Sears Diehard Platinum).

Optima spiral cell batteries are GREAT but pricey! Really and truly you get what you pay for!

Get the most CCAs (Cold Cranking Amps) you can afford...

Optima is no longer on my radar - even though I have USA made Optima's in 4 of my cars. - quality is lacking since the move to MEXICO!

Go for Odyssey or Deka brand AGM batteries. - Read post #46 here on this Diesel truck forum for why Optima's are now crap...... And Odyssey's rock...... (Diesel trucks take 2 batteries each and require a lot of CCA's to turn over).

A recent Consumer Reports gives Everstart batteries, available at Walmart, a recommended buy.

Two options: go to Walmart, buy and install yourself; Go to Advanced Auto, buy and they install and service as long as the warranty is good. The difference in cost is about 1/3 more at Advanced; but if you can't/don't to the install,

Cool Re: 06 PT cruiser Battery

I have always had great luck with INterstate batteries are OEM replacements.
Got my last two at the local Firestone Store.
