Default Cheap Mods

Has anyone seen or tried this Stainless Steel Paint? I saw it on a home reno show today and thought it might work for painting engine parts or trim pieces.

liquidstainlesssteel

Is it really stainless steel?
Thomas' Liquid Stainless SteelTM is made with 100% stainless steel in an automotive grade, clear resin. We don't use any colorants, pigments or dyes. What you see is 100% stainless steel. It's a new Micrometal technology that combines microscopic particles of stainless steel with a clear, automotive grade resin. The polymerization allows the stainless steel to flow. Thomas' Stainless SteelTM looks like brushed stainless steel because it is brushed stainless steel! Your brush strokes create a brushed finish in 100% stainless steel.
Thomas' Liquid Stainless SteelTM is used to update -

- large and small kitchen appliances
- tile backsplashes
- wood cabinets
- countertops - Formica, laminate and cultured marble
- cabinet and door hardware
- light fixtures
- table tops
- kitchen pot racks
- ceilng fans

Looks interesting...

I will keep this in mind. I like the idea of brushed SS under the hood. It's differrent from what everyone else is doing and won't blind you quite so much in the sun when the hood is up :P

I didn't see the marble kits. Maybe I'll get one of those for the dash. With marble and SS, I can make the PT look like my dream kitchen

I wasn't picking on you. I was trying to be funny.

I've seen enough episodes of Pimp My Ride to know there is enough room in the back of a Cruiser for a mini kitchen

I looked over the site a bit and it says it can stand temps up like 300. I wouldn't think the external components under the hood would be that hot.

Good find, I think this is just what I need in my repair of the chrome clad wheels on my PT that look so bad. I have used some POR-15 on the tire seal lip of the wheel and that has worked out great, but the old chrome around the outer OD is looking real bad from the salt over the years. This stuf looks like it will work out just great, thanks

I think I'll have to go check Home Depot or Rona and see if they have it up here. Maybe try a small can.
