2002 PT cruiser SE Solenoid question

I recently took my car for regular check up with oil change. They came back to me saying that I needed Trans Shift Solenoid, Arbor2.1 and transflush. I do not have a shifting problem with my car. It shifts fine. Would the dealer say this knowing that I do not have a problem, or perhaps their computer diagnosis says that their is a problem. I think that I may need a Trans flush perhaps, but that is all. I have about 110,000 miles on the car.

I am wary of transmission flushes.

Ask them. The Solenoid packs sometimes leak - maybe that's it.
I had my trans flushed at 50,000 miles, and will have it done again at 100,000 when I get the timing belt done.
You had your timing belt done? At 110,000 - you're due...

I would be wary of doing a transmission flush at 100,000 miles +
if the car has never had one before. I have seen cars that tried to do that and they have never left the dealership without getting a new transmission. Most maintenance services suggest that if not done before 60,000 miles, not to do it at all.
Ask your dealer that question.

I never heard that. I had a '95 Neon w/over 100,000 miles that was balking at shifting, had it flushed, and it shifted fine after that.

I get a small leak at the SE Solenoid, but only when the temp gets lower outside. I plan to just replace the gasket this coming spring and do a home flush of the trans at that time.

We bought ours used in 05 with 17000 miles
The tranny went out in 06 with 60000 miles
Had a used one put in
Last spring it would keep running when shut off
Took to Chrys to hook up to diagnos for 80$
Said it needed the ECM replaced to the tune of $2000
I went online ebay and found them there rebuilt for 198$ and put in in our selves
We prev had taken it to an auto parts store and their puter said TCM or something like that but hubby was afraid to proceed so that's why we went to Chrys to diagnos that was at 90000
We went a few months ago to get parts for a tune up and the salesman said he had an 02 and said we should have a new timing belt installed and water pump as we were 11000 and they are known for blowing...we did it
Now we are having overheating problems it did boil out...so on a hot august day we had a thermostat installed
Now every once in awhile it shoots up to H and chimes but is not overheated????? Any ideas................the temp guage and the gas guage are in the same area and the gas guage recently went whacky and says full when only registers 3/4 showing..............any ideas could it be a sensor or a faulty guage??????????????????????????????

Very rarely it's the thermostat that causes the overheating. There's the fan, air in the system, head gasket, blocked radiator ...all these can cause overheating.

Now every once in awhile it shoots up to H and chimes but is not overheated?????

..and what does it do after that, just go back to normal where the guage is halfway?

I don't understand how it can say something and register something else. How is it "saying" something?
