Question New PT Owner outside air temp question

I just bought my first PT Cruiser a 2001 limited and I love it what a fun car to drive. I noticed that the outside air temp. doesn't seem to be accurate it is telling me its 77 degrees outside and it is definitely not here in NY in November. LOL. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

is this right at start up? You have to remember that the sensor is on the front by the radiator, there fore if you've been driving for a while, you get a higher reading from the engine heat.

Welcome, Sparky.
The sensor is on a vertical brace in front of the radiator. It's only the size of a pencil eraser.

...and if you sit in traffic or stop and switch to ACC (to listen to the radio when parked), you'll see that temp go over 100° quickly... You'd think they'd found a better place for the sensor.
